APPLICATIONS

Virocidin-X is recommended for disinfecting hard surfaces in laboratories, hospitals, clinics, dental offics and other medical or public health related facilities.

Virocidin-X does not affect glass, stainless steel, rubber, ceramics, most plastics and painted surfaces when used according to label directions. However, with prolonged exposure, the oxidative action of Virocidin-X can lead to corrosion of easily-oxidizable materials (eg. aluminum, copper, carbon steel). Since Virocidin-X is effective in 2 minutes or less, such prolonged exposure times are not necessary.

Biocidal Efficacy Data

Organism Exposure
Time to Kill
Bacteriocide
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (gram neg.) 30 seconds
Staphylococcus aureus (gram pos.) 30 seconds
Salmonella typhi (gram neg.) 30 seconds
Salmonella choleraesuis (gram neg.) 30 seconds

In addition, research suggests that the sodium hypochlorite in the concentration available in Virocidin-X can be used to destroy Hepatitis B Virus*.
